Accessibility Statement

Last Updated:

Fastening Solutions, Inc. ("FSI") is committed to ensuring that our website at https://www.fsiusa.com/ is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that every visitor deserves a positive, barrier-free experience on our Site.

Our commitment: We are actively working to improve the accessibility of our Site in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time project, and we welcome your feedback.

1. Accessibility Standards

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

WCAG is organized around four core principles — content must be:

  • Perceivable — Information and user interface components must be presentable in ways users can perceive
  • Operable — User interface components and navigation must be operable by all users
  • Understandable — Information and operation of the interface must be understandable
  • Robust — Content must be robust enough to be interpreted by a wide variety of assistive technologies

2. Measures We Have Taken

As part of our ongoing accessibility efforts, we have implemented the following on our Site:

Keyboard Navigation

All interactive elements including navigation, links, and forms are fully accessible via keyboard without requiring a mouse.

Focus Indicators

Visible focus rings are applied to all interactive elements so keyboard users can always see where they are on the page.

Screen Reader Support

All images, icons, and SVG elements include appropriate alt text or aria-hidden attributes. Descriptive aria-labels are applied to all links and interactive controls.

Color Contrast

Text and interactive elements meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.

Semantic HTML

Pages use proper heading hierarchy, landmark roles, semantic list elements, and the address element for contact information to support assistive technology navigation.

Link Clarity

All links are underlined and include descriptive labels. Links that open in a new tab are identified with an "(opens in new tab)" disclosure in their aria-label.

Reduced Motion

Animations and transitions on our Site respect the user's operating system "reduce motion" preference, disabling movement for users who may be affected by it.

Touch Targets

Interactive elements including social media icons are sized to meet minimum touch target recommendations for mobile users.

3. Conformance Status

The following table summarizes our current conformance status across key areas of the Site. We update this table as improvements are made.

4. Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance across our entire Site, some areas are subject to platform constraints or are actively being improved:

  • E-commerce platform pages — Certain product listing, cart, and checkout pages are rendered by our ECI EvolutionX platform. We work with ECI to identify and address accessibility gaps within the platform's capabilities.
  • PDF documents — Product catalogs and data sheets in PDF format may not be fully accessible to screen reader users. If you need any document in an accessible format, please contact us and we will provide an alternative.
  • Third-party content — Embedded content from third-party providers such as Google Maps and social media platforms may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA. We encourage users to review the accessibility statements of those providers directly.
  • Legacy content — Some older pages or documents may not yet reflect our current accessibility standards. We are actively reviewing and updating legacy content.

5. Assistive Technology Compatibility

Our Site has been developed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver (macOS and iOS)
  • Keyboard-only navigation on desktop browsers
  • Browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
  • Windows High Contrast mode
  • Voice control software including Dragon NaturallySpeaking

Our Site is tested on current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. If you experience issues with a specific browser or assistive technology combination, please let us know.

6. Feedback and Contact

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of our Site. If you experience any barriers, encounter content that is not accessible, or need information in an alternative format, please contact us. We take all accessibility feedback seriously and aim to respond within 5 business days.

When contacting us about an accessibility issue, it is helpful to include:

  • The URL or page where you encountered the issue
  • A description of the barrier or difficulty you experienced
  • The assistive technology and browser you were using, if applicable
